I worked in collaboration with every member of the Strategic Communications and Marketing team as well as an outside vendor to produce a series of videos for the University of Florida Foundation’s annual award ceremony.
I personally served as director, cinematographer, and editor for 2 of the 5 packages. I also worked with my director in creative services and our team’s designers to develop a new graphics package for all of the videos in the series, incorporating video backgrounds I filmed on campus with a DJI Ronin-M stabilized gimbal system. Additionally, I served as a point of contact with Mindseye Project Partners on the pieces they produced, providing instruction on how to implement the new look and consolidating and communicating the feedback from those at the Office of Development & Alumni Affairs.
The series was presented at the UF Foundation’s Academy of Golden Gators event on March 4, 2016 at Emerson Alumni Hall.
The Academy of Golden Gators reflects UF’s aspiration to be one of the most influential and impactful universities by recognizing philanthropists whose courage to care enables UF to touch lives throughout the world. The academy honors the generosity and vision of donors and volunteers who embody the spirit of the University of Florida family.
In two decades, the student-run Dance Marathon at the University of Florida has raised more than $10 million to support Children’s Miracle Network at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. The yearlong fundraising efforts culminate each spring with students standing on their feet for 26.2 hours to symbolize the obstacles pediatric patients and their families often face while in the hospital.
Ken and Linda McGurn have invested more than $2.9 million in the University of Florida, mostly in the Warrington College of Business and Florida Museum of Natural History. Their McGurn Management Company has helped revitalize downtown Gainesville, and they have received more than 50 local, state, regional and national awards.
