These buds, some of my former DFP classmates, Sam Smartt and Chris Zaluski made this film about the station wagon’s place in American history while we were going to school together. I helped out a very small amount, driving Sam’s cam while they shooting the car in the film’s intro. These guys won a Student Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences College Television Awards for the film and, after a strong film festival run, the filmmakers have the DVD and Wagonmasters merch for sale on their website.

Tempeh is a traditional Indonesian soy food. Ask about it in Gainesville, FL and you’ll hear the story of Artie and Jose, the two local artisanal producers. Once business partners, today they are competitors. The Exclusivity of Gainesville explores this small town rivalry and the two strong-minded entrepreneurs behind it.
Roman and Nick made this a few years ago while they were at the Documentary Institute at the University of Florida. As a Gainesville native, I was aware of this story and had thought about its potential to be told as a documentary short. Then I met these guys and found out they’d already done it!
