The Saints play a pick up game against some stiff competition in our festive new video for the Saints Tip-Off Classic.

After many years of production experience and sustained living dead fandom, I finally got the opportunity to shoot and direct my first zombie video! Santa Fe College really does help make dreams (and undead nightmares) come true.

I came up with the concept of the video after hearing that the doubleheader season tip-off for the Santa Fe College Basketball program would be held on Halloween this year. My co-workers in Communications & Creative Services helped polish my idea and served as crew for the production. Our colleagues in the Fine Arts department took care of the casting, costuming, hair and makeup for the zombies and we had the full support of the coaches and the Athletics department, so it was a real collaborative effort.

When asked what we should call the event, I jokingly suggested “Dunkoween,” and it stuck. I tried to take it back, but it was already out there. Now I have to own it. You’ll hear just how hard I’ve tried to own it in my voiceover.

I love Halloween. I don’t think I could get away with stuff like this any other time of year.
